    Hello:

     
    one fine morning, i booted my machine and got the BSOD on my vista box.

    i cannot boot into safe mode because it resets my machine. if i finally get to the login screen, i get the following bsod and the following errors:
    nvmfdx32.sys and ntfs.sys.
    i looked up both erros which points to nvidia drivers. i want to update the nvidia drivers but i cannot since i cannot boot into safe mode.


    i tried to use my microsoft install cd and and i get the following error message.

    PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA with the following technical information
    stop: 0x00000050 (0x81A6A24c,0x00000000,0x8961c4d3,0x00000002)


    its like what comes 1st, chicken or egg?


    please help.

    what can i do?

    Hi

     

    Can you get to the Advanced Boot Options screen (F8)?

    If you can, select the Enable low resolution video (640x480) option.

    This option is used when there is a problem with the display card, display drivers, such as Windows trying to load corrupted display driver into memory. This mode is also used while resetting the display properties.

     

    This should allow you to boot normally and replace or rollback misbehaving display drivers.

     

    It's not pretty, but it usually works.
