  • Hi Bhakti,

What version of AD are you using? Do you have Exchange in place?  What is the reason for this Domain name change?

You have 2 options. Domain Rename or Migration

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc738208(WS.10).aspx

Domain rename is supported in an Active Directory forest in which Exchange Server 2003 with Service Pack 1 (SP1) is deployed. However, domain rename is not supported in an Active Directory forest in which Exchange 2000 Server is deployed. When the domain rename tool detects this condition, it will not proceed with the domain rename process.

Or create new AD forest and migrate everything over.

Changing Domain name is not that easy.  If it is due internal and public DNS name issue, try to use Split DNS structure.

    Also refer

which explains step by step procedure for SharePoint Domain migration.

    Hope this helps

and we did not change the domain name we installed new active directory 2010 before we have 2007.

now my portal is using old one so every employee has two manage 2 login one for email and one for portal so thats why i want to take my portal in new AD
