Best setup for weekly backup RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am looking to backup my media and documents weekly. Should I go with a USB 3.0 external HDD or just add an internal SATA 3 HDD? This is for my new build, not the one in my signature I want my backups to be fast as I have lot of videos and photos. I don't need it to be portable necessarily; the purpose is to have a backup of my data in the event of a primary HDD failure or virus.

  • First, a backup to an external HDD will be much safer than to an internal HDD

Second, You can leave this job to free software with a "Schedule Backup" function like AOMEI Backupper.

Hope this will help you :http://www.backup-utility.com/features/schedule-backup.html

  • Apart from using freeware, you can also using backup from Microsoft Server to schedule your backup.

Backup to USB drive should be a best choice. You can also consider to make the data Offsite to further secure them.
