Microsoft lync client can make calls but not receive them

Question

So I have our Lync server all set up…I can make outgoing calls, but I cannot receive them on my client. I have the URI fully populated with my direct line. Why can’t I receive calls? I have this integrated with my call manager as well.

hi,
Also make sure that you have told cisco guys the mediation server litsening ports. if you can go to topology builder and check what is your litsening port and ask your cisco guy to send traffic on this port
hope above helps.

Hi,
It is hard to say without having so much information any how
Which call manager you have integrated with let us know the make and model with version
what do you mean by uri fully populated with my client line
try to enable logging and then check what exactly is happening
have you created dial plans voice policies routes and usages
have you told your call manager guys your mediation server litsening ports
what error you are receiving while other party makes a call

My environment looks like this…Lync Fe Svr----SIP TRUNK----Cisco Call Manager 7.1-----ISR 2811 gateway----PSTN
I can make outgoing calls through my lync client. So yes, I have dial plan, voice policy, etc …set up.
However, inbound calls do not ever reach my Lync client. The calls get up to my IP phone and stop…never get to my client. I have configured the mobility feature on UC for remote destination, which should allow my IP phone, and lync client to ring using the same DID simultaneously. The URI…in the control panel of the lync server under users…I populated it with my full e.164 phone number.

hi,
i assume your lync numbers and cisco ip phone numbers are different. i am not so much in to the cisco but if uc remote destination works like this then it is ok.
Also if you can turn on logging tool in lync and see that either request is coming to lync or not. also make sure that in cisco your mediation server litsening port is the same which you have defined in topology builder.
you can enable lync logging with the help of http://www.ultimate-communications.com/2010/11/how-to-troubleshoot-lync-using-lync-server-logging-tool-snooper-v4/

When you say the call is getting to your 'Lync IP phone' I assume you mean a Polycom hard phone or whatever. If the call is getting to that but you are not seeing the toast on your desktop I may know what the problem is. Is your phone connected to the computer via USB ?Friday, March 9, 2012 2:03 AM

Hi,
1. Please try to check mediation server listening ports.
2. Please also make sure do populate the telephone number field in AD user’s account. Please refer to the following link to verify if LineURI is set correctly.

3. Would you please check your configuration of CUCM routing? Here is the information about configuring Cisco Unified Communications Manager 7.1:
Another more information just for your reference:
