Recommend a SIP Trunk provider that connects via VPN tunnel? RRS feed

  • Question

  • We want to hook up a siptrunk connection directly to the lync mediation server without gateways in the mix.  I know there are cloud providers who can do this.  Anyone recommend one that has good quality and do a site to site vpn?  thanks

  • I met with some providers and some of them offer a VPN connection instead of us allowing their public IP to the mediation server.  Some want to put a VPN device on our network, and one wanted to put it on our internal network with remote access to it!  Ultimately the best solution for use secure-wise will have to be an SBC in the DMZ.

  • Hello,

TLS and SRTP is the preferred security option. (i am not aware of vpn-ing itsp but perhaps there is)

Take a look at these sip trunk providers and pick one that does TLS/SRTP for secure solution:

    implementing trunk with tls/srtp:

  • Hi,

As Matt sugeested in above link, you can get a connetion on one of those certified providers aand directly connect the link to the Mediation server without an involvement of a Gateway.
