  • Check the TargetServerURL property of the project. Sometime it asks user id and password if you set it to http://servrename/reports instead of http://servrename/reportserver (this is correct).  It will not say that it is not a valid url but it will keep asking for user id and passwor.

  • BIDS is based on VS 2005/2008. Have you checked the TargetServerURL property.

Right click on the project and select Properites menu. It will open Properties dialog box. Check if TargetServerURL is set to ReportServer url. It should not be Reports Manager url. Refer my previous post.

  • You need to enter the username and password of an Account on the report server. That account needs to have deployment rights(Publisher role).

Go to your report server url and you can change, add and delete role assignments there. You will of course need to have added the users first.

  • Pankaj,

Make sure you do the deployment with a user having high privilleges/Access like Administrator in the report server.

BTW, WHIch methd of deployment are you doing?

    BIDS?

    Report Manager?

YOu need to provide UserName/PWD of the user exist in your Report Server.
