Disable Monitoring for Read Only SQL Server Database RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have configured my SQL Server Environment for monitoring using the Low Privilege access described in the management pack documentation.  However, I have several instances across a couple of different servers that have read only databases in the instance.  How can I disable monitoring/discovery ONLY for these databases, not the entire instance itself?  I have found numerous places where I can disable the entire instance, but not the individual databases.

    Any ideas?

  • Create a group of those database instances, and disable the database related discoveries for that group. If the databases have already been discovered, then you will need to run the equivalent of Remove-DisabledMonitoringObject in your environment in order to remove those database instances. Monitoring will automatically stop then.
