Permission in shared folders and Files RRS feed

  • Question

  • HI,

i am using Windows server 2008 STD R2 and windows 7 Pro in clients Machine, i want to create two groups of ACL for Users.

i want to apply some security policies in my LAN, where i have shared some folder with full permission. in these folder we have some critical data which need to be protected.

i want to limit the access of the users as follows.

Limited Access - i want to provide limited access to most of the users, i want to give them - Read/Write/Modify/copy/paste/new file creation. but i don't want that any of these users can delete any thing form the same (shared) folder.

Full Access - Some Seniors People will have this permission.

    Please guide.

    Thanks & Regards,

  • go to the NTFS permission of the folder/file > go to Advanced > from there you can customize the permission( you can deny delete) for one user group. For senior people you can create another group and allow them to delete the files /folders
