DPM Azure - multiple sites backup to same Azure vault RRS feed

  • Question

  •

    Note found in this area:

Another alternative is to use Windows Azure Backup on each of the remote sites and let them backup their own data to Azure.  They can share the same backup vault, or they can use separate vault.

Question is: What logon ID credentials do you for all sites? Do you use same passphrases? -

  • Hi,

I'm not sure what you mean with logon ID credentials can you please explain more in detail what you are referring to?

Regarding the passpharse: It is recommended that you use a different passpharse for each server you register to a backup vault. Using the same passphrase is supported but not secure!

Also remember that storing your passphrases is important, because it's not shared with Microsoft. In other words, if you lose your passphrases, you won't be able to restore from the backups in the vault.

    Kind Regards

  • Hi,

You need to install the azure backup agent and get the vault certificate from azure portal.

Then when you need to define pass phrases key. View this video on how to configure azure backup.
