Email not reaching Outlook or OWA, does reach BlackBerry. Exchange 2003 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

One of our users intermittently does not receive emails into their inbox, but the email do arrive on their BlackBerry.

For example, on Saturday they received 18 emails, only one of which shows up in Outlook or OWA.  They all show up on their BlackBerry.

I've used the Message Tracking Center and searched for that client on that day and all 18 were found.  All 18 list "Event Time:SMTP Store Driver: Message Delivered Locally to Store to Email Address" for the problem user.

Exchange 2003, Server Standard Edition 2003, Office 2003

Thought?  Ideas?  Direction to look in?

    Thank you.

  • If mails are delivered to Blackberry then it should be delivered to mailbox first because blackberry poll for new emails at certain interval and if new mails are found then those are being forwarded to blackberry.

As you mentioned, message tracking log also shows that emails are delivered locally to store so I would start looking with outlook rules (including stale or hidden rules) if anything configured to remove emails or any blackberry settings set to remove emails after delivered to device.

  • Thank you Amit.

There was one rule that I removed.  Is there a way to re-submit the messages in order to test if it worked?

    Thank you.

  • You can send a test mail and see how it works now but same message can not be re-submitted unless you ask sender to send it back :)

But if you want to just recover the 18 mails then you can from Dumpster if those are not passed default 7 days of retention period.
