Percent complete for tasks lost in Project Server 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I need some help with a Project Server 2010 (and Professional) problem.  I have 2 project managers who published their projects from Project Professional to Project Server 2010 but when they went back a few days later many of the tasks percentage complete (were at 100%) changed back to what they were before the project mangers changed them and published them.  This happened to one of them 3 times.   Has anyone experienced this and if so what had to be done to fix it?  I'm a fairly new admin for Project Server 2010 in my office so I can use any help I can get.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Which Cumulative Update are you on. This issue existed before December 2010 CU.

  • My general policy is:

    1) Identify the tasks in question

    2) Query the Archive database to see when the changes occurred.

    3) If anything changed on the task that looks suspicious, chalk it up to user error.

So far, I've seen the following:

    1) PM went and extended the date of a task marked 100% complete.  This, in some circumstances will remove the % Complete.

    2) Assigned resources to a completed task.

....both of which could be considered bad practices.  Not saying that's the case here, but that is the explanation more often than not.
