Start menu bug (renders behind taskbar) RRS feed

  • Has anyone else experienced this problem on Win7 RC?

I've noticed on a few occasions that my start menu will appear low and behind the taskbar.  After struggling with it a bit, I found that I can now easily reproduce the problem by following these steps:
    1. Click the orb to open the start menu.
    2. Hover over the "Internet Explorer" shortcut, expanding the menu to the right to show "Frequent" and "Tasks" shortcuts.
    3. Click outside the start menu to close it.
Now, if I click the orb to bring up the start menu again, it renders low and behind the taskbar.

Also, I found I can then get it back to normal by right-clicking the orb and selecting "Properties", then clicking OK on the "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" window.

  • I have the same issue and it seems (but i'm not sure) its gets reproducing after Win+D shortcut usage and/or using "show destop" button at the left taskbar side.
