DHCP not responding to vlan1 request from some wireless devices RRS feed

  • Question

  • Here is the setup.

Ubiquiti APs connecting to Meraki MX device then to Meraki switches with connection to Windows 2012 R2 server running dhcp.

The wired and wireless devices are using the same DHCP range on the default vlan1. At some point the wireless devices are not getting offers from the dhcp server. But not all, it affects some wireless devices renewing their addresses but not always all. And after a period of time has passed, about 10 minutes give or take a few, the device will get its IP address renewed. This has not affected any wired devices.

Wireshark capture shows the discover and the request will reach the Windows Server with the dhcp service running on it. But there are no offers returned. Event viewer does not show any errors, and the range for the IPs are only at 30% used.

    Any thoughts?
