    Hi All,

I got a problem installing Windows Vista 64-bit.
Windows loads files normally, but after that it won't let me go to installation setup, but pop-up black screen:

    Windows boot manager

Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.
    To fix problem:

1.Insert your windows installation disc and restart.
2.Choose your lanuage settings and the clik "NEXT"
    3. Click "REPAIR YOUR COMPUTER"

    Status: 0xc0000225

When I hit an ENTER, I got this:
Choose an operationg system to start, or press TAB(which actually starts WMD) to select a tool:

    WINDOWS SETUP (EMS ENABLED)

When i choose this it will go back to the first black screen.

By the way I did not have any problems when I tried 32-bit edition.

    My specs are

    Amd 64+ 3000 Asus K8N
    3x Kingston 512MB DDR2-400
    Leadtek  256MB
    120GB SATA-II
    Windows XP PRO SP2

  • Hi,

The error 0xc0000225 should be caused by the firmware (BIOS) is not ACPI compatible. I would suggest to go to BIOS settings, and turn the ACPI function on.

    Hope it helps.

  • Thanks Guozhen! I was having the same problem all day today with Windows 7 64 bit! I spent 45 minutes online with Windows support and there was no resolution. Glad I found this answer.
