Any way to make MDT look at SCCM for Windows Updates? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

Is it possible to have a step in a task sequence which instigates Windows Updates, but looks at SCCM software updates folders, and installs from there?

  • Unfortunately only if MDT/SCCM are integrated.

This is a pain point for many others as well, as not all environments are equal, and are not a good candiated for MDT integration into SCCM.

    So that leaves you with:

Build a standalone WSUS\sql server and duplicate SCCM patch approvals. Point MDT to that Wsus server during your MDT image builds.

Build your image - Patch it with SCCM, and record each update in a spreadsheet that was installed from a SCCM report, download each update, and add them to the packages folder in your Image build sequence.
