App v application didn't start on clients RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I have MDOP 2011,

I tried to sequence a lot of applications, and imported to App V management server,

The application shortcuts appear in client side but it come with error

The package requested could not be found in the system data store or the files associated with this package could not be found on the server. Report the following error code to your System Administrator. Error code: 4615186-1690140A-20000194

I already set the UNC path for the content folder for each application as\\appvserver\content \file.osd and sharing permission and NTFS permission is read for authenticated users, and remove any spaces in the OSD file during creation,

SO, is it any registry modification on appv server or client or both it should done OR it is not necessary ,

Also there is the client log :

  • Hello,

    Yes

And as said above - the path field under the deployment tab post-sequencing should correspond to the folder you save in.

    As the example stated - the folder you saved your Firefox package in is called;

    Firefox

So the value in the field should be Firefox

  • Hi,

    I follow that article before,

The case now the package is successfully start at client side as the all package files located directly inside the content folder,

But if I create one folder inside the content folder with the name of the package, and put all package files inside that folder, the package not started at clients,

Ex, as create \\appvserver\content\firefox   and put all Firefox files in Firefox folder, and point the package to the OSD file in that folder from management console, and at same time edit the OSD file from            HREF="rtsp://%Appvserver%:554/firefox.sft"             to                HREF="rtsp://%Appvserver%:554/firefox/firefox.sft"

So My question, there is any way to let the package files located in dedicated folder inside content folder, (instead of put the package files direct to content folder) ?

  • Hello,

Normally - when you save a package you define a path under the deployment-tab of the editor. This path corresponds to the folder you were to save your package under (example firefox in your case above)

  • Hello,

I try to create new package ,and I specify the path before package saving, as \\appvserver\contect\firefox  (as our example),

But the same, as I found the generated OSD file is HREF="rtsp://%Appvserver%:554/content/firefox/firefox.sft"

and it is not working too, as it is not the case, as you can edit the path in generated OSD file at any time,

But still my question is , It is available in APP-V to save the package files to new folder inside the content folder ?  YES / NO

And if yes how to do it,

As the original OSD file is HREF="rtsp://%Appvserver%:554/firefox.sft" (if the package files directly saved to content folder)

And the expected format is HREF="rtsp://%Appvserver%:554/firefox/firefox.sft" (if I create Firefox folder inside content folder and copy package files to it)

  • Hello znak,

I've got some inspiration from you posts, thanks.

However, I have the same that MS Tamer had. I can get all the apps saved at Content folder run well, but cannot run those apps with subdirectory. I set up a directory named Icon Master under Content (Q:\content\Icon Master) and put the package into it. On the client side I got the same error massage above.

Could you please show me how to put info the path field under the deployment tab? (\Icon Master\Icon Master OR Icon Master\Icon Master Or Icon Master?)

And on the Server side, how to put info under Package File Relative Path at the package Properties windows?

    Thanks a lot!!!
