Project Online Licensing and Reporting RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear All,

    Q1:

We need project online for one user, is it possible to buy Project Online Professional or Project Online Premium for one user. That is, is there is any minimum license purchase limitation for Project Online.

    Q2:

Is it possible to deploy SSRS report in Project Online tenant.

    Thanks in advance, Taj

  • Hi Taj,

Q1: there is no minimal number of user, meaning you can buy just 1 licence. But the question would be: Project Online is an application to share information and data, to consolidate projects and portfolio, so is there really a need of Project Online for just 1 user?

Q2: Yes you can do SSRS with Project Online, but since the DB is not directly accessible with Project Online, you need first to collect the data in a local SQL DB, using for example SSIS. See references:

  • Hi Guillaume ,

Thanks for your reply, we have small team managing few projects. all the projects managed by one person . Looking for a centralized system to avoid the person dependency.

Similarly is there is any size restriction project online to upload the project document to the project site /workspace.

    Thanks in advance, Taj

  • Hi,

For the Sharepoint sites boundaries, you have to refer to the sharepoint online boundaries:

  • Hi Guillaume,

Thanks for your reply, the information which shared is for office 365. How it is related to project online. Is there is any separate storage limit for project online.

    Thanks in advance, Taj

  • You were first talking about project documents, so everything that is related to the sharepoint sites such as document storage must refer to the SharePoint Online boundaries. This is why I shared the sharepoint online boundaries, which do apply to the project sites in Project Online.

Concerning Project Online itself, here are the boundaries:
