Microsoft Outlook 2010 adds random email address when reply RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello all,

the past few days happens the following weird thing that affects only a couple of users so far.
We are using Outlook 2010 SP2 and our exchange is provided by Microsoft (Office 365). Two users, after receiving an email from inside our organization clicked on reply and when they did that, they both noticed that outlook had changed the email address to a random one, still from our organization. This has happened from two different senders to two different recipients.

I have checked and tried the suggestions from this https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/lync/en-US/a8af977e-0afa-4a04-93a9-61ccbf0d24ac/outlook-2010-reply-all-function-adds-an-random-persons-email-address-in-the-conversation?forum=outlook
but everything looks as supposed it should. Also i have tried to clear the AutoComplete, but no luck.

Any suggestions are more than welcome.
    Dionisis.

  • Hi,

    >>This has happened from two different senders to two different recipients.

Does this issue happen with a specific sender to each recipient? Is this issue replicable with other emails sent from the same sender?

Have you tried starting Outlook in safe mode to see whether this issue continues? Press Win key and R to open the Run command, type outlook /safe and press Enter.

Besides, if possible, we may also try set up the user's email account on a working computer and see whether this issue still happens.

Please let us know the result.

    Regards,
    Steve Fan
