hang mouse/keyboard after resume from sleep RRS feed

  • Question

  • Vista x-86 6.6000.

After resume from sleep the system comes back, and the mouse works for about three seconds, then it freezes, along with the keyboard.

Don't understand how sleep in RTM version can have problems, especially since the sleep is the default setting for the taskbar stop button.

    Using ps2 mouse and keyboard.

  • No way it is a hardware issue. My Vista came preinstaled on a Compaq notebook and showed same problem.

  • I've had this problem on both XP Pro and Vista Ultimate systems using Logitech keyboard+mouse combo with SetPoint driver.  Haven't discovered a fix yet—I really just started looking and this was my first stop—other than rebooting.

  • This is a problem I've had that seems to occur as the battery is losing power.  After putting in new batteries, this problem has always gone away.

  • How often do you change batteries that you would deduce this cause-effect?

I think I changed a battery once in the last 15 years.

I updated to the latest Nvidia Driver 175.16 and the behavior on this scenario changed, but unfortunately, for the worse.

I rolled back to the prior driver.

Just installed SMBus driver v4.64 from NVIDIA nForce Driver package 15.17.

This fixes the problem with the mouse hang.
But the keyboard is still not working.
