DPM2010 - Recovery Options RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm moving data to a new file server and plan to use our DPM backup to do this.  There are 4 protected volumes that hold 1TB each.  I'd like recover all data to the new server which would be phase 1, and then a day or two later, take another full backup of the data on the old server and restore just the changed files.

    1. Is this possible with DPM?

When specifying the recovery options for "Existing Version Recovery Behavior" there are three choices.  Create Copy, Skip, Overwrite.

    2. How Does DPM define an existing file?

    Thanks!

  • (1) No, you can use Robocopy for this

    (2) Recoverable object path already exists on the target

  • Hi Rudd,

Why can't you do this? It seems like it ought to work.
