Rolling Back to Office 2007 from Office 2010 Beta RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello All,

I am in a bind and can use some help. I need to roll back to Office 2007 from Office 2010 Beta.

The Beta expires on the 31st and I would gladly purchase the release version if I had the budget.

    Please help.

  • You can't literally "roll back" the version of Office. You must uninstall the 2010 Beta, and then reinstall 2007. For that, you'll need the original Office 2007 disk and its 25-character product key.

If you don't have the disk and its key, I hope you have some proof of purchase. Follow the instructions in these articles:

One other thing: Before you uninstall Office 2010 Beta, you should open all the documents you need to keep, and save them in the Office 97-2003 formats. There's a possibility that files saved in the
newer formats from the beta won't open in 2007 or in earlier versions that use the Compatibility Pack.
