delete folders/files or copy using CMD RRS feed

  • hi, i'm try to copy folders/files and then deleting them once copied.

    xcopy "%APPDATA%\Apple Computer" "C:\Apple Computer Backup" /E /I /Y 

    rmdir "%APPDATA%\Apple Computer\" /s /q 

    This works fine on Windows 7 but windows xp keep getting message unable to delete "Apple Computer"

    Can someone please let me know how I can copy and delete files in windows XP Pro 32Bites

  • Have you checked the environment variable on the XP box to make sure it knows what %appdata% is. The environment variables are listed on control panel - system - advanced - environment variables

  • when i type in %APPDATA% in cmd i can see full path but for some reason when i use this in xcopy it doesn't work.

    This still doesn't worked.

    So i wrote same script in powershell which allows me to get appdata location.
