Forms in Sharepoint without Access or InfoPath?

  Hello all,

  How can I create forms in Sharepoint (without Access or InfoPath) so that I will not just have a list from sharepoint transformed in a long form with one  control under the other? Or do you know how can i customize the custom list that sp designer offers?
