Hi,
According to AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 8.0 User Manual, the AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 8.0 can be used on all editions of Windows Vista.
Before moving on, please help confirm the following questions.
1. Did you download the installation file from Grisoft website?
2. Did the issue occur when trying to install AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 8.0 or trying to run it after installation?
3. What error message you have received?
For your convenience, I have list the following links:

Hi LAURA,
Do you have more then one anti-virus installed on your PC. If you do, remove one and then install AVGFREE 8.0 - it will run. You can have only one anti-virus running at a time.

Details?
Have you installed AVG and it will not run?
Are you trying to install and it will not complete?
Did you download this file from the Grisoft website?
Which version of Vista are you running?
If you are receiving any error messages, please include them here.
I have the new AVG 8.0.100 installed on 4 Vista systems here and it is working OK.
Let us know.
