  • It is possible to install the 3 individual rpm's separately in the correct order and specify a 'prefix' directory for the install. After you untar the Microsoft R Open tarball containing the installer you will have a 'rpm' folder containing the 3 installer rpm's.

Install the 3 rpm's as follows in this order for example, to use the directory 'home/sweller' as the prefix:

    %sudo rpm -ivh --prefix=/home/sweller microsoft-r-open-mro-3.4.2.rpm

    % sudo rpm -ivh --prefix=/home/sweller microsoft-r-open-mkl-3.4.2.rpm

    %sudo rpm -ivh --prefix=/home/sweller microsoft-r-open-foreachiterators-3.4.2.rpm

You will then find the R executable under '/home/sweller/ropen/3.4.2/lib64/R/bin'.

You may want to create symbolic links to the 'R' and 'Rscript' files in this directory under '/usr/bin'.
