Unable to send inline pictures with OWA RRS feed

  • Question

  • This problem started about a month ago, don't know exactly when.  It happens to all users.

We used to be able to send "inline pictures" with Outlook Web App.  Now, the pictures end up as a box with a red X in it at the destination.  This used to work a few months ago.

It still works if clients use Internet Explorer, but using Firefox it is now broken.

    Exchange server 2013, CU 17.

  • Hi,

I understand this issue occurs in Firefox. It could be a client side issue, not a server side issue as it works fine in IE. To be more precise, could you let us know what browser the sender used and what browser the recipient used? If the sender uses IE to send message, can the imbedded picture display correctly? If the imbedded picture cannot display correctly in Firefox, here are some points you can check with your Firefox based on mozilla support: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-problems-images-not-show.

  • You are correct, it appears to be affecting Firefox 56 only.
