asp.net application session expired simultaneous on shared hosting RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there,

I have created an application using ASP.NET and C# and it works fine for session on intranet and local machine.

when i deployed it on shared hosting, session is being automatically cleared within few seconds.

And I did ask to hosting provider about server architecture if the hosted server is webfarm or load balancing server?

but they replied that its not webfarm nor load balanced server. its simply shared hosting.

And they suggested to optimise the code as application pool is being recycled because its exceeding virtual memory limit.

howcome this happen as my application is too small and it uses session for storing simply 4-5 values?

Please suggest a better solution as they are not providing stateserver and sql server to manage session rather than inproc.

and i am avoiding using cookies as browser dependency will come in scenario.

    Thanks in advance.

I do not see any mention of Microsoft Project Server in your question.  I suspect you posted your question in this user forum erroneously, as this forum is dedicated to questions about Project Server.  I would propose that you repost it to a forum dedicated to software development questions using ASP.NET and C Sharp.  Hope this helps.

  • Though you question is not related to this forum, just check you don't have viruses on the hosting machine as anti virus recycles sessions.
