How to add Org Chart on my MySite page?

    Question

  • Hi there

I see that some users' My Site page shows an Org Chart. Others do not have this on their My Site page.

    - How to enable this for all users?
    - How to enable this for just myself?

    Thanks so much.

  • Hi,

The Web Part, “Org Chart”, that was visible under the About Me section of MySites in previous versions of SharePoint is now hidden in SharePoint 2013 by default.

Users can personalize the about me page to add org chart web part if they want to see it.

If you don’t want to show this web part for other users, you need to remove these web parts and remove their permissions to edit page.

More information about Org Chart in SharePoint 2013 My site for your reference:

  • Hi Dean,

    - The first link - has just the question and no answer.
    - Second link tells us about how to change http://mysite/personal/jsmith/Social/Sites.aspx while I need to change  http://mysite/Person.aspx

Any thoughts how can I change http://mysite/Person.aspx? I do not see anyway to add web parts or customize this page.

    Help will be appreciated.

    Thanks.

  • From experience the organization browser is not shown when you view your own MySite page but will show if you are viewing somebody else's MySite page (unless they have edited the page and removed it).

To add it to your own MySite just edit the page and add the Organization Browser web part from the Social Collaboration category.

  • Hi Dai,

I am farm admin - yet I do not see any way to edit the My Site page at all.
Any thoughts how can I see the Edit Page option on this very page?

    Thanks.

On My SIte > On top right > Under Gear icon - there is no option to edit the page!
    (I am farm admin)

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

Please check if you have enough permission for My Site Host site collection. You should have edit option if you have enough permission.

Or please check for the page code to see if the Edit page option has been hidden by any customizations.

    Best Regards,

    Dean Wang

  • Hi,

    Yes, I know you’re a farm administrator.

Being a farm administrator allows you to perform farm level operations, such as do many operations in CA site to manage web applications, service applications and etc.

Being a site collection administrator is different from farm administrator, which allows you to have full control permission level to manage all sites in this site collection.

Thus, I suggest you check you permission in this My Site Host site collection.

    Thanks,

    Dean Wang

  • I just double checked - yes I am the primary site collection administrator of my MySite as well (alongside being a farm admin).

Any other thoughts will be appreciated.

    Thanks so much.
