  • Question

  • Okay, so we've been working on configuring SCSM 2012 for a few months now and presented it to our Director yesterday. Simply put, he hated it. Too many clicks just to submit a ticket. As it is now, the user clicks the service offering, picks the request offering, then has to click go to request form.

Is there anyway to eliminate that third click? We're under the impression there is not but wanted to check with this community before I gave my Director a definitive answer.

He also complained about the sluggishness of the SM console. Any suggestions on hwo to improve the speed of it? Our sys admin said it is very resource intensive and that is why it runs so slowly.

I appreciate any suggestions or advice.

  • Hey

The portal cusomization is very limited. One thing you could do is create your very own Portal from scratch. Maybe this helps --> http://blogs.technet.com/b/servicemanager/archive/2012/01/05/custom-silverlight-module-for-service-manager-2012-portal.aspx

Regarding console performance: true, make sure you dont use type projections/combination classes if not needed. If you need them, use only relationships that are really needed. Also we have several customers that had a memory leak in the console (sometimes the console process used more than 2GB Memory) where a private patch was created by MS and solved the problem. Open a support case if you have this situation.

    regards
