UAC issue User account control: detect application installation and prompt for elevation windows 7 RRS feed

  • Ive looked everywhere and i cant find a solution.  i already tried going into the secpol.msc and enabling it and it still not helping, i get "User account control: detect application installation and prompt for elevation" or when i try to install other things it says i dont have admin rights when i know i do. what should i do please help!!

  • the setting is enabled by default. An application called setup.exe or install.exe gets and UAC elevation prompt even if it doesn't have the manifest.

    As Andre says, the UAC function will prompt you the setups need administrator rights and need you confirm unless the UAC disabled.

  • I am aware of this since every time i try to install a program this comes up. Im trying to figure out how to FIX the issue.

  • which issue? Because setups need admin rights this is the correct way to avoid failures.
