How to collect approvals in one place?

  • I am considering creating a leave approval Sharepoint online custom list +workflow (a lot like this).

    However, the leave approval process is of little use if the outcome is not available to the persons working in the administrative department. That is, they must have access to something like a "list of approved days off" , in order to correct salary and so on.

    What I basically want is a system for making leave requests for approval, then an approval-by-manager function, then a function to collect all approvals in one place, for easy administrative handling.

    Does anyone have suggestions for how to manage that?

    Would there be any difference in functionality if instead I started with a calendar list?
