Cannot create a Virtual Machine Win 10 Gen 2 VM using Hyper-V RRS feed

  • Having the same issue as other have had but there seem to be no answer from MS to solve this issue.  The same issue as follows:

    Creating the Win 10 Gen2 VM led to a black screen displaying:

    "

    PXE Network Boot using IPv4 ( ESC to cancel )

    Performing DHCP Negotiation

    .. which lead to another screen

    Hyper-V

    _________________________

    Virtual Machine Boot Summary:

    1. SCSI DVD  (0,1)                     The boot loader failed - Time out

    2. Network Adapter (001..)       DHCP failed

    3. SCSI Disk  (0,0)                      No UEFI-compatible file systems was found

    What can be done to resolve this issue?

  • Have you tried the following action:

    1. Stop the VM
    2. Go to its Settings
    3. Within Hardware > Select Security > Disable/Uncheck “Enable Secure Boot” > Start your machine again and see if it works.

    By the way, does all the Win Gen 2 VMs in your environment encounter this issue or just one VM encounter this issue?

  • The problem may be caused by wrong booting order. You can try to change the boot order from the settings' firmware to make sure that the top is file bootmgfw.efi.
