Welcome Screen Shutdown gone! RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am using Windows XP home SP3. After unistalling Steady State the shut-down on the welcome has gone.
I have unticked the options in steady state to show the shut-down button on the welcome screen but every time I unistall steady state it keeps disappearing. As I am on XP Home the administration tools do not have the local security policy option.

I have tried reinstalling steady state and unticked ticked all the options on the computer restrictions options to show the shut-down option on the weclome screen and restarted. It is there but as soon as I unistall steady state it goes again.

please help me fix this problem as I really want the shutdown button back!
    Thanks

  • As far as I know, you need set
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\ShutdownWithoutLogon
