How to hide a Web Application from the Project Pro 2010 when publishing a project for the first time? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Guys

I have a PS2010 farm with 06 PWA, each one in its own web application with its own database content.  My question is:

Everytime a try to publish a new project for the first it asks the project site name, but it gives me the possibility to choose which Aplication Web.  Considering the user belongs to only one PWA thus one Aplication Web, how to hide the application web from users that do not belong to that PWA/Application Web?

There is no way to hide the Web Application pick list, but you can disable it so that users cannot select anything other than the Web Application that you designate.  Your Project Server administrator should do the following:
    1. Log into PWA with Administrator permissions.
    2. Click Server Settings > Project Site Provisioning Settings (you find it in the Operational Policies section of the page).
    3. Make sure the Default Web Application option is set to the correct option.
    4. Select the Restrict Project site Creation to the Default Site Collection checkbox and then click the Save button.
    Hope this helps.
