    Can we connect to external database Oracle from sharepoint? If yes then how the database updates synchronised in sharepoint? do we have create a trigger or timer service to achieve that?Please advise. thank you

    "You can connect to external data sources with Business Connectivity Services, and create some external content types with either SharePoint Designer 2010 or Visual Studio 2010."

  • As specified by Valy Greavu , it's completely achievable using Business Connectivity Services(BCS) . BCS can be thought of as a platform for INTEGRATING external systems into SharePoint.
