WSUS failing to download 2018-01 Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows 7 x64-based Systems (KB4056894)

Hi All,

We're stuck trying to download this update, it keeps getting to ~240MB and then stops. We were also seeing it on the 2017-11 and 2017-12 rollups for WIN10 1709, but other updates are still downloading without issue.

I've cancelled the download, declined them, cleaned up the server to delete the partial file copies and then tried again but it just keeps failing.

We did have an error 364 in event viewer saying "Content file download failed. Reason: HTTP status 502: The server, while acting as a gateway or proxy to fulfill the request, received an invalid response from the upstream server it accessed."

We've not had this since the 23rd though.

Any ideas how to get this downloading?

This was an issue with our proxy server - used a different one and all three affected updates downloaded no problem

Another way - try to import this update manually on WSUS.
