IE10 and Microsoft Security Essentials Detected Threats RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I have been using Google Chrome for the past few years because of its simplified interface and superior performance compared to the other major browsers.  I also use Microsoft Security Essentials for virus protection on my computer.

Each time Microsoft releases a new browser version I like to give it a spin to see how it compares to Google Chrome, so I recently installed IE10 when it became available for Windows 7 through Windows Update and have been giving it another try.

What I have noticed is that Microsoft Security Essentials regularly detects viruses with IE10, where as it never detected anything whatsoever with Google Chrome in all the years I have used it.  I have never been infected with a virus with Google Chrome either, however I have with IE10.

This leads me to believe that Chrome filters out known viruses before they even get to your computer and IE10 does not.

    Anyone else seeing that?
