Create scope and limit to content collection. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have created a content collection called "Sample", added 10 sql records to it.

I need to create a search scope which need to limit to "Sample" content collection.

I'm using below command from sharepoint cmd shell

New-SPEnterpriseSearchQueryScope -SearchApplication "FAST Query SSA" -Name SampleScope -Description "Collection Scope" -DisplayInAdminUI 1 -ExtendedSearchFilter 'meta.collection:Sample'

This command creates a new scope but doesnt add any items to the scope.

  • Hi sirii,

The count of the scope when looking at it via Central Admin will always show the scope as empty. This is because it is evaluated at run-time per query and not calculated like with SharePoint Search.

Once the scope has been compiled and you use the scope when searching you will see that you are only getting the sql records.
