Error 10102

    Question

  • Hey,

We keep getting Error 10102 on cache status page, and every time we need to clear up our caches to be able to open a project in project professional desktop/client, otherwise we get error that we only can open it in view only.

We are running MS project 2007 SP2 as well as SP2 verion of project professional desktop.

    Any idea?

    Thanks...

  • I ended up with clear all the enire cache with  %appdata%. To do so:

    • Close and exit MS Project Professional 2007 application (if already open on your machine)
    • Click on Start menu -> Run

Type %appdata% and click on "OK"  then

    • Navigate to the Microsoft\MS Project\Cache folder
    • Delete all of the folders and files in this directory

Now it doesn't ask our PMs to open in read only mode.

  • Michael,

Thanks for your post, but I don't think that this is our case. The problems that the url that you sent me describes is not the one that we have.

We have 32bit enviroument, and we are not getting this error message in our Operations Manager log or SQL. This error (10102) in in our Project server professional desktop(cilnet with 32 bit windows) and it is under cache status.

Do you think installing new patches could help us? We only have SP2 and not the very latest patches.

    Thanks
