I'm having difficulty accessing the user training modules for Sharepoint 2007.
Windows server IP 147.31.202.41
Shared Services Provider port: 20968
computer name is "navmar-3hkd88a6" which is not on a domain
when I logon to the sharepoint server itself from an
*outside box* with IE using
http://147.31.202.42:20968/default.aspx I can navigate anywhere on this site collection, which is where the Sharepoint training is resident. Throughout this navigation my browser maintains the correct
http://IP
ort, for instance
http://147.31.202.42:20968/Lists/Team%20Discussion/AllItems.aspx but as soon as I get onto Sharepoint training
http://147.31.202.42:20968/Training/default.aspx I get the home training page, then I can hit "start training" which takes me to
http://147.31.202.42:20968/Training/learner/default.aspx, and then I try to access one of the training modules and get "Error: File not found"
When I do this on the server box itself and access these modules I get
http://navmar-3hkd88a6:20968/Training/learner/default.aspx and this does allow access to each training module.
So the IP address and computer name are not mapping to each other. The question is, what file/setting/mapping needs to be changed to resolve this, or is there some other problem. I tried adding
147.31.202.42 navmar-3hkd88a6 to this file
WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
to no effect.
Any help would be appreciated.
