What does a CD-Error 50 mean on Export? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have two Forests/Domains which FIM manages with no Trust between them.  In this case, FIM Exports from the Metaverse/Forest A into Forest B.  Its only a one-way operation.

On export, 2 groups fail export with a CD-Error 50 error.  These groups are Domain Local security groups in Forest A.

Can anyone plz point me to where I can find a CD-Error 50 explanation or advise on what this means?

Thanks in advance for the help.

  • usually an error is associated with an object that failed to export.  Can you open the details and see what did not go right?  CD Errors usually mean that the target is rejecting the update.   Bad data format, of some sort.

  • Thanks for the response.

Ive opened the details and perform a 'Preview' with both Full and Delta, but don't find any reason why this would fail.

The group name and associated DN looks fine.  Where can I look for further clues?

  • Preview acts on SYNC process, your error is on Export, so it will not do you any good.

I am asking to click on the error "cd-error" and that gives you more details.

  • So clicking on the CD-Error doesn't really give me anything.

    Error: cd-error

    Retry count: 46

Connected data source error code: 50

Connected data source error: The request is not supported.

  • there are 2 columns on the error page. One has the error and one the details. Also, if you do a preview Full Sync, it will tell you what it is trying to update. Look at the value of the attribute that is trying to update

  • The only format I see on our Export Error page is what I've detailed above.  So in our case, Error: would be column 1 and cd-error would be column 2. I don't see anything else on the page/tab and the Preview tab is greyed-out/not available.

When I do a Full-Preview, everything looks good to me, so apparently Im missing something that isn't obvious to me.

  • Can you please send some screen shots, so I can indicate where things are.  When you do a preview, it tells you what is trying to export. So if the export has failed last time, it will try to do it again. By finding that export we can tell why it failed the first time.

  • I don't feel comfortable posting the screen shots to this public forum and there will be too much to 'white out' if I would post the screen shots.

    I will continue to search.

  • Hi,

I think it was a grouptype mismatch between the Source and Target as evidenced below:
