  • Question

  • I used "Move database path..." command in the EMC to move a public folder to a new location, it ended with the following error, and want mount:

    --------------------------------------------------------
    Microsoft Exchange Error
    --------------------------------------------------------
Failed to mount database 'Public Folder Database 0969664653'.

    OK

After checking the file move I find that the TMP.EDB file is missing from the source as the destination folder

I checked the Mcafee logs and didn't not find TMP.EDB file block, deleted or quarantine.

  • Hi,

    -515 means Invalid log sequence,

So if we remove all the log files, the database should can be mounted when it is clean shutdown status.

  • My Database was in a clean shutdown state , so I remove all other files (Logs, etc) with just my edb file I mounted success the public folder.  I found out that the TMP.EDB only exist is the database is online so this was not the cause of my problem.

  • Hi Xiu Zhang,

Yes I understand that now, but why did I have to delete all the log file for it to mount, should not this process be autonomous? It work for other 6 DB?.

  • Hi,

You can move these logs to a new location and then try to mount the database, after that you can move these logs back.
