Missing a tab in Mail at the control panel RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I'm trying to follow this guide:

    https://lookeen.com/blog/outlook-keeps-asking-for-password-office-365

Cause I have an outlook account keeps asking for a username and password, but the thing is I'm having an issue at the step #4 as I can't find (Account Settings) when I click (Email Accounts).. But although I'm able to go to (Change) then click (More settings) but it open up a different menu named (Internet E-mail Account) not (Microsoft Exchange) as shown in the guide and I don't have that (Security) tab there that should solve the problem..

    What I'm missing here?

    Thanks,

  • This complicate my original issue though cause now I don't know how to stop outlook from keeping on asking for password :(

Then I suggest you provide some additional information such as

#1 - Is this something that went from working to non-working OR is does this involve setting up a new POP email account?

#2 - Who is your ESP (email service provider)?

#3 - Outlook version being used?

#4 - Can you log into your email account via webmail (using your browser)?

#5 - Does your email account use 2-step authentication?

When you click on <Email Accounts> - you open "Account Settings" which is the title of the Window. Only typo in that article is that you don't <choose> Account Settings after clicking on <Email Accounts>

As fpr the rest of your description - your don't indicate what type of email account you're using so combined with not knowing the background details to your issue - can't comment.

  • Hello,

    The type is 'POP/SMTP'

So what exactly is the issue/problem/question? You're looking at an article that uses an Exchange account in the example whereas you are using a POP3 account which is going to result in a different set of properties.

Suggest you start from the beginning and describe what problem you're trying to solve.

  • Oh I get it now after searching of why you asked for the type of my mail, so POP settings doesn't have the security tab then..

This complicate my original issue though cause now I don't know how to stop outlook from keeping on asking for password :(
