    Hi,

    I have a question regarding the biztalk managemtn pack for scom.

    If we have a receive location that shuts down,, will it be possible to make scom automatically start these receive locations?

    Does the biztalk management pack have this feature to do so?..

    Hi,

    The Biztalk MP ( 2010 and prior) do not include this feature. I can only see two agent tasks to enable or disable a Receive Location but nothing automatic.

    What you should do is:

    • Write a vbscript that takes a receive location name as parameter in order to start it
    • Create a custom MP referencing the Biztalk monitoring one
    • Create a Write Action module that launches you vbscript
    • Create a Recovery task on the Receive Location Availability Monitor in order to automatically launch the write action (vbscript that starts the RL) when the monitor reports the RL to be down.

    Are you familiar with SCOM ? Which version of Biztalk have you implemented ?

    I'll give you further information depending of you answers.
