Windows 7 Explorer Maximizing Black Area Bug RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • When you try to maximize a Windows Explorer window, just miliseconds after clicking the Maximize button or double clicking to top part of window, the top part of window will shown in black color.

When the window is in top half part of screen just Windows Search box will become balck and when it's in bottom half part the whole address bar and search box will become black.

    Repro Steps:
    1. Open a Windows Explorer window.
    2. Consider precisely to top part of window will doing next step
    3. Click Maximize button
    4. You'll see a black area in window being displayed for milliseconds.
    Expected result:
Windows Explorer window to hold its original color when maximizing.

  • I agree, This is quite annoying and is present on both WDDM 1.0 and WDDM 1.1. Its presents itself in any window with client area glass, IE8, Explorer, Chrome. This did not occur in Vista, but occurs on windows 7.
