SQL Reporting Services : include predecessors in reports RRS feed

  • Question

  • Greetings!

We are creating reports using SQL Reporting services and wish to include task predecessors and successors.    In what view are these fields found and what is the name of the actual field?

    Thanks!

  • Since direct accessing of Published DB is not supported, hence another possible solution i could think of could be creating a task type enterprise custom field and have a macro in Ent Global which copies all the predecessor column into this new task type custom column upon any project save / publish or open event and then you can pull the information  out of reporting DB for reporting purposes

Let us know if this helps

  • Hi Randy.

you will need to use the Published database for that.

The information you are looking for is in the MSP_Links table.

To get a glue, what the LINK_LAG and other columns are for, I would recommend a glance into the MSDN reference:

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms512357(v=office.12).aspx

    I hope that helps

  • yes, that is a possible alternative solution - at least if you use Project Professional and not PWA for editing...
