Trend Worry Free / SBS 08 / VSS Error

Question
-
I just picked up a customer running Trend Worry Free on their SBS 08 server. They use Symantec Backup Exec for SBS and all patches/etc...Each night as the backup completes, it shows the following error:
VSS Snapshot warning. File c:\program files (x86)\trend micro\security server\pccsrv\web\service\ofcaosmgr.exe is not present on the snapshot.
I've searched the trend KB, googled this, etc... I can't find anything related to this...
Any ideas on how to stop the Snap Shot from even looking at this file?

ok well if it doesnt actually exist - that could also be a problem ;o)
Two choices, open a case with trend for a missing file....
Remove the file from the selection list of BE.

Which version of trend are you running,
Have you used the SBS Native backup to see if that runs ok?
IS backupexec up to date?
You deselect that folder from the backup - not a best practice, but as long as you have the HTTPDB folder from trend, you can restore your database, so in the event you HAD to restore from backup, you could just reinstall trend as an extra step.
Granted, i would suggest you do try to fix the error though rather than workaround it.

IS backupexec up to date?Yep, version 12.something, live update reports no updates.

I can do that, but the strange thing is that the file in question doesn't exist when I browse for it, but the snapshot complains about it missing - like it's a ghost...

I'm with you 100%, but I can't even find reports of this.

You didn't say which version of Trend is running, but if it's version 7 there have been lots of problems. Some were improved with the latest patches, and others are not yet resolved. You can check Trend's forum at http://community.trendmicro.com/t5/Business-Security-Forum/bd-p/businessprod to see if anything there is helpful.Saturday, February 12, 2011 1:07 PM

Login to the WFBS console, you can find out from the product info page.
The version numbers you posted are just from the client, so not as easy to track i think.
