Windows7 Ultimate Perfomance is Slow RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I'm running PACKARD BELL EASYNOTE SB89-P-021 laptop with 2GB Ram ,500 GB Hard Disk that had Vista 32-bit installed. I upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit.  Now when i switch on laptop its showing the two Operating System Names and ask me to select one.  If i select Earlier Version of Windows Vista, its not opening Vista, but Window7 Ultimate operating system is only working.  My System performance is also very slow. I want to remove that Earlier Version of Windows Vista.  How can I able to Formate or Delete that Earlier Version of Vista?

    Thanks in Advance

    Jags.

  • EasyBCD only deletes the Bootmenu entry. You have to use the disc cleanup tool from Windows to delete the Windows.old folder or delete it your own with the Explorer.

  • What is slow? Have you made an Upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 or installed Windows 7on the same partition like Vista? In this case delete the Windows.old folder and use EasyBCD to delete the Boot entry.

  • Hi Andre,

Thanks for your reply, I didn't upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 , i just installed windows 7 on the same partition. Can i delete the Windows.old folder directly from the "C:" drive, or i have to use "EasyBCD" to delete the folder as well as the Boot entry???
