"FAST Search Center" template unavailable RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to replace SharePoint 2010 Search with FAST. I have completed all steps up to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff381248.aspx

I enabled the two site collection features. But when I attempt to create a site, "FAST Search Center" template is not listed under Enterprise, or on any tabs.

"Page Layout and Site Template Settings" page has "Subtsite Templates" set to "Subsites can use any site template", and "FAST Search Center (All)" is on the list. What am I missing?

No errors on the FAST server and a full crawl completed successfully. I do get hits when searching for some word. But upon clicking on any search result, I get the blank Search Center page (http://<server>/SearchCenter/Pages/default.aspx).

    Thank you in advance.

  • Justin,

Have a look over the deployment guide and see if there are any steps you might have missed during the install - it's fairly involved!

    http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=3343

I followed the guide to the letter and FAST search showed up under the enterprise tab. I checked farm features to see if maybe there was something you need to enable, but the only one I have is for a FAST timer job.

  • Justin, try to enable the following site collection feature:

    $site = Get-SPSite "http://intranet.contoso.com"
    $site.Features.Add("5EAC763D-FBF5-4d6f-A76B-EDED7DD7B0A5")

  • Vassili,

Your answer led me to this article: http://dotnetmafia.sys-con.com/node/1793052/mobile

All I needed to do is run this command

    Enable-SPFeature –Id SearchExtensions –url http://sp2010/sites/deployment

I have FAST Search Center now.

    I am using SharePoint 2010 SP1.

    Thank you,

    Justin

  • Justin,

I had the same problem and

    the Enable-SPFeature helps me

Seems that this is missing in the feature activation UI?

    Thanks,

    Helmut
