Hi Folks,
I've been reading through prior posts and following the links off to TechNet and I've come up with an outline for my ConfigMgr upgrade (2007 R3 to 2012).
My current set-up is quite simple one Primary in our data centre and a secondary at each of our two corporate offices.
At a high level can the procedure be as simple as this?
Configuration Manager 2012 Upgrade Procedure
-
Check .NET 4 is installed on all Windows 7 client systems
-
At least 500MB free disk space for CCM client
-
Deploy .NET 4 package where required
-
Build New Primary SCCM 2012 server
-
Upgrade Existing SCCM SQL 2008 server to SP3 & cumulative update 4
-
Build new SCCM 2012 Secondary server in Office 1
-
Build new SCCM 2012 Secondary server in Office 2
-
Ensure required SCCM roles are all installed and fully functioning on 2012 servers
-
Begin Migration Wizard – Object Migration
-
Upgrade SCCM client and point at new primary
-
Update OSD images with new SCCM client
